How it works


$260 p/p (Cert II entry qualification = $210 + Cert III upgrade = $50).

Available in a 2 year format. 

Includes entry qualification: SIS20115 Certificate II in Sport and Recreation (scheduled for completion at end of Term 4).

Students deliver sport/recreation programs within their school community. Programs include:

  • Officiating games
  • Conduct coaching activities
  • Sports performance program

Professional Development & Training
  • Vocational Competence Update (VCU Sport) for Teachers
  • Annual resource induction for all participating teachers, inclusive of industry-specific and VET professional development.
  • Ongoing PD and in-servicing
Resources
  • ALL program materials are developed for you – including unit plans, assessment tasks, and marking guides. We save you time!
  • Binnacle Lounge (learning management system) – the centrepiece for all program resources, learning, assessment and up-to-the-minute student progress reporting. 
  • First Aid – for school to deliver. 

School requirements


HPE Teacher (Program Deliverer)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 or TAE40116). 
  • Sport coaching and officiating experience.
School Programs
  • Access to programs, games or competitions where students will assist as coaches or officials.
Partial Completion
  • This course is also offered as a partial completion program.

What students achieve


  • Certificate III in Sport and Recreation (SIS30115)
  • Entry qualification: Certificate II in Sport and Recreation (SIS20115)
  • Officiating accreditation
  • Coaching accreditation
  • First Aid qualification and CPR certificate
  • Maximum 7 QCE Credits (Cert III) → QLD Schools
  • Students may be able to improve their chances of gaining tertiary entrance.
