At Binnacle Training we enable teachers to deliver quality VET programs (Tourism, Business, Fitness, Sport and First Aid options) to students within their normal timetable. Our programs are delivered by qualified teaching staff employed at the school.  Binnacle provides the educational resources (including online teaching and learning platform) and ongoing program support; while the school provides the physical and human resources to allow delivery within the school.

Vocational programs (in schools) provide students many of the following opportunities:

  • Training that is relevant to the workplace
  • Gives students a head start on preparing for a career post secondary school
  • Allows students to be involved in real-life learning whilst still undertaking full time study in school
  • Gain practical, work-related skills to enhance future employment opportunities
  • Allow students to gain a nationally recognised qualification whilst still in school
  • Contributes to the student’s Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) in Queensland.
  • May contribute to the student’s ATAR score

VET delivered at the school (on site) added advantages:

  • Students not having to leave school (no timetable disruptions with student’s other subjects)
  • Teacher has already developed relationship with the student
  • Reduced costs (how we are able to keep our costs comparatively low, when compared with other RTOs who have to factor deliverer costs).

Auspicing is the term used that sees the school deliver the entire VET program to students within their normal timetable by qualified and experienced teaching staff (already) employed by the school. Binnacle Training acts as the RTO and is responsible for resources, support and issuing of qualifications to students. This is a very popular model with the subjects Binnacle Training offer and allows students to be taught by staff in your school whilst having the compliance and rigors of an RTO taken care of by Binnacle Training.

Note: Binnacle and the school will enter into a Third Party Agreement that clearly identifies all parties roles and responsibilities. VET in school programs provide opportunities for students to explore and gain real-life skills to enhance employment opportunities, whilst still undertaking full time study in their own school.
