Officiating (2-Unit Short Course)
Course Overview & Outline
This 2-Unit Short Course is a great Year 10 option for HPE or Sports Academy Programs.
This 1-Term short course introduces students to the foundational skills and knowledge needed to confidently officiate or judge sporting competitions. Topics of study include the physical and mental preparation for officiating, communication and behaviour expectations, and the legal and ethical responsibilities of an official. Students will gain hands-on experience by navigating dispute resolution role plays, and actively managing and officiating peer matches.
A Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) screening process is undertaken as part of pre-enrolment in order to provide advice to students on the suitability of the training product.
