John Coutis is a remarkable Australian who was born with a severe physical disability in which doctors gave him little chance of survival. John has not only defied medical opinion, he has thrived and is acknowledged as one of the world’s most inspirational speakers. Without the lower part of his body, John embraces a full and positive life. He rolls around on his custom skateboard and uses humour to communicate some of life’s most important lessons.

We’re pleased to be able to present a walkthrough of our new Learning Management System, Lounge V2, presented by eSkilled Business Development Manager, Mark Cesare. Mark’s session will show you how to successfully navigate the new Learning Management System, highlighting all the new features that this state of the art LMS has to offer our Binnacle teachers.

He explains how WHS is embedded in everything from the new gym’s layout, ensuring safe movement and risk minimisation, to rigorous equipment inspection protocols and staff training, underscoring that client and staff accountability is essential for a safe environment.

Bavay is a business with a 100-year legacy, and George explains the unique factors that allow it to stand out from competitors and the rewarding aspects that drive its longevity. We delve into the day-to-day operations and management, including strategies for customer acquisition, retention, and staying ahead of industry trends, alongside the essential tools that support the business. Furthermore, the discussion provides a personal perspective on entrepreneurship, addressing the challenges of work-life balance, the sacrifices made, and invaluable advice for new small business owners.

Tyron is a teacher at North Rockhampton State High School who had a vision: to create a statewide Rugby League carnival for State School students. This year, that vision took its first big step forward. With the support of his hardworking team, Tyron brought the idea to life – organising the inaugural Queensland State Schools Cup, held in Rockhampton at the end of Term 3.  In this session, Tyron will share with us the story of that journey. 

This segment provides a detailed look at the student-led Wanderlust Food and Drink Festival, tracing its inception and covering the rigorous preparations and organization that bring it to life, including the project’s detailed timeline, strategic breakdown into focused teams (e.g., marketing, logistics), and the essential tools and software used for coordination. The session explains the event’s core educational purpose, outlining how the experience is formally assessed against specific units of competency to serve as a vital benchmark for student skills and workforce readiness within the industry.
