Show Caution - Practical-based Delivery in Week 4

May 6, 2020

Key Point #1 - Practical-based Delivery in Week 4 - Please show caution

By now you would have knowledge of the Latest advice - Coronavirus from the Director General advising that Year 11 and 12 students will return to school next Monday 11th May.

Despite the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) suggesting “social distancing is not required for students during classroom activities”, Binnacle Training will seek to exercise caution during the initial transition back to school-based learning. We ask that you please follow the Course Level message and continue to exclude those practical based assessments listed. We will review again at the end of week 4 (after a full week back for Year 11 and 12) and provide further advice at this point - with the intention to return back safely, but as quickly as possible, to practical-based delivery.

In conjunction with your own school’s policies and procedures during this time, please also review Binnacle’s procedure regarding Delivery of Face-to-Face Training During the COVID-19 Pandemic, in line with directives from our regulator Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

For First Aid Deliverers - Practical training restrictions remain in place:

We anticipate First Aid & CPR practical delivery to continue to be refrained this term, due to the additional infection control risks associated with this course. Current expert and regulatory advice is to avoid First Aid practical training unless it is deemed urgent and essential. Please contact us if you feel you may have an upcoming course which falls into this category. We will continue to regularly review this advice from above.

Please feel free to contact your Program Manager should you have any questions.
